Halftime saw the Badgers re-energized and the returned with a 10-2 run late in the game. "I was really proud of our kids in the second half," said head coach
Jonathan Tsipis. "I thought we came out, I thought the kids just played on their toes and attacked.
"No matter if it was a minute in, or the last 30 seconds, our group was together and cheering for each other up off the bench. I thought they fought until the horn went off."
Among other notables,
Kendra Van Leeuwen started in her 118th game with Wisconsin. She is in fourth place all-time for Badgers with the most starts.
Maryland was led by Kaila Charles with 19 points. Four other players scored double-digits with Shakira Austin and Ashley Owusu putting up 12 and Taylor Mikesell and Stephanie Jones with 11. Jones led the team in rebounds with nine.
Wisconsin will stay home as the team hosts No. 18 Northwestern on Saturday at 11 a.m.
