ATLANTA, GA.- Wisconsin fell to Georgia Tech 41-60 in the 13th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge, Wisconsin's record is now 6-7 for the challenge.
The game started slow, and the Badgers put the first points on the board with 7:22 left in the first quarter when sophomoreÂ
Imani Lewis drew a foul on a two-pointer and made the and-one.
Wisconsin's familiar duo Lewis and
Abby Laszewski led the team both with 10 points. Lewis also led the team in rebounds with five total.
Freshman
Sydney Hilliard led the team in assists with four, while teammates
Sara Stapleton and Laszewski both shot 100 percent from the free-throw line.
Senior
Kendra Van Leeuwen, who had her 100th career start against Tech, had one assist for the night. She now holds the tenth place spot in the team record book for career assists.Â
The Jackets were led by Nerea Hermosa with 14 points and closely followed by Francesca Pan, who had 13. Lorela Cubaj had 11 rebounds and two blocks.
The Badgers head to North Dakota State on Sun. Dec. 8 to face the Bison for their next match up. Tip-off is at 2 p.m.
