MADISON, Wis. — No. 22 Wisconsin looks to get back on track and win its fourth straight Big Ten road game when it travels to Penn State on Sunday. The Badgers have won 10 in a row over the Nittany Lions, including six consecutive in University Park, Pa.
Up next, UW hosts Purdue on Jan. 11 at the Kohl Center for the two schools' only regular-season meeting.
1. ON GARD:Â In his fourth season as head coach, Greg Gard has led the Badgers to a mark of 67-40 (.626), the third-highest win percentage in program history (min. 60 games).
2. HAPPENS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST: Preseason AP All-American Ethan Happ is playing like a postseason All-American. Ranking second in the nation in double-doubles (10), Happ is averaging 21.5 ppg and 11.7 rpg away from home this season. That has included a 30-point, 13-rebound night at Xavier and a 34-point, 11-rebound game at Marquette.
3. 'NET' GAINS:Â Wisconsin is currently No. 21 in the NCAA's NET rankings and is one of just three teams with four Quadrant 1 wins this season (also Duke and Michigan). The Badgers are 3-2 against teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25.
4. ROAD WARRIORS:Â Wisconsin has already amassed four wins away from home this season, matching its total road/neutral wins last season.
5. DOWNTOWN BADGERS:Â The Badgers rank second in the Big Ten shooting 37.8% from 3-point range. That figure is up from 33.5% a year ago. Defensively, UW is allowing opponents to shoot just 31.3%from long range and hit a mere 6.4 3FGs per game.
