Wisconsin falls to Penn State 38-31 in Big Ten Championship

INDIANAPOLIS — After building a 21-point lead midway through the second quarter, No. 6 Wisconsin lost momentum against No. 7 Penn State's second-half rally to lose the 2016 Big Ten Championship Game, 38-31.
Badgers' running back Corey Clement led the Badgers with 21 carries for 164 yards rushing and one touchdown, including a 67-yard TD run in the first quarter.
Wisconsin quarterback Bart Houston finished 16 of 21 for 174 yards passing. UW's starting quarterback Alex Hornibrook did not play in the game due to injury.
The Badgers saw a touchdown a piece from senior RB Dare Ogunbowale (6 carries, 26 yards) and fullback Austin Ramesh. Freshman running back Bradrick Shaw notched 62 yards on 15 carries.
Trailing 28-7 with 5:15 left in the first half, Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley ignited the opposition's comeback with touchdowns on each of its next four possessions, finally taking a 35-31 lead on an 18-yard TD pass to Saquon Barkley with 13:41 left in the game. The Nittany Lions (11-2) never trailed again.
Wisconsin's defense was led by Vince Biegel and Ryan Connelly with 8 tackles each.
Wisconsin (10-3) now awaits Sunday's bowl announcement.
