UW has won three straight games at Kinnick Stadium, its longest winning streak in Iowa City since the Badgers won four-straight from 1907-1928.
Wisconsin has rushed for at least 200 yards in 10 games this season. That ties last year's total.
UW held an opponent to 101 yards rushing or less for the seventh time this season--the most since 2009 when the Badgers did not allow more than 101 yards in 11 games.
PLAYER NOTES
Junior RB Melvin Gordon's 88-yard run in the third quarter was the longest of his career. He had an 80-yard run last year at Arizona State. That run put him over 2,000 yards for the season, on his 241st carry of the season. That is the fewest carries for a running back to get to 2,000 yards in FBS history. The previous record-holder was Penn State's Larry Johnson, who reached 2,000 yards on 251 carries in 2002.
Gordon is the 17th player in FBS history to run for at least 2,000 yards in a season. His season total of 2,109 ranks 10th in FBS history. That is tied with Ron Dayne's 1996 total for the Big Ten and school record.
Gordon has run for at least 120 yards in 10 of the Badgers' 11 games this season, including nine in a row. He now has 20 career 100-yard rushing games, tied with P.J. Hill for the fourth-most in school history.
Gordon has scored a touchdown in every game this season and leads the FBS with 27 TDs this season. It's the sixth-straight game Gordon has scored at least two TDs. That is the second-best single-season total in Big Ten history, trailing only Montee Ball 39 TDs in 2011.
Gordon added a career-high 64 yards receiving on four catches.
Junior QB Tanner McEvoy broke off a 45-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter. It was his third run of at least 40 yards this season and the third-longest run of his career. Wisconsin now has 23 runs of 40 or more yards this season.
Junior S Michael Caputo forced and recovered a fumble on Iowa's first possession. It was Caputo's third fumble recovery of the season and his first career forced fumble. He added a team-high 11 tackles.
Freshman K Rafael Gaglianone made a 50-yard field goal on the Badgers' first possession. It was his second FG of at least 50 yards this season (he made a 51-yarder in the season opener against LSU). He joins Taylor Mehlhaff (2006) and Philip Welch (2009) as the only UW players to make multiple 50-yard field goals in the same season. Gaglianone added a 22-yard field goal in the 3rd quarter to for his 10th consecutive make.
Fifth-year senior S Peniel Jean made a career-high seven tackles.
Sophomore N Arthur Goldberg tied a career-high with five tackles.
