IOWA CITY, Iowa--The UW men's rowing team went undefeated on Sunday as the Badgers posted the top spot in every race at the Head of the Iowa.
The Badgers entered 27 total boats in the men's eight, men's four, and men's pair events at the regatta.
"This year, while the regatta was relatively small, it's about twice as big as it was last year so it was pretty fun to see, and the weather was perfect," said head coach Chris Clark.
The men's varsity eight took the top four places of nine in the race on Sunday. The Wisconsin D boat took first place with a time of 11:59.476, followed closely by the Wisconsin B boat that finished in 12:00.653. The Wisconsin C boat placed third in 12:09.922 and the Wisconsin A boat finished in fourth with a time of 12:15.861.
UW controlled the varsity four as well, sweeping the top six spots in the race. The Wisconsin B boat finished first with a time of 13:00.555, followed by the Wisconsin D boat in 13:04.256, and the Wisconsin F boat in 13:25.236.
Wisconsin continued to dominate over the field in the men's pair as well as the Badgers took the top eight spots in the race. The Wisconsin A boat finished in first place in 14:23.123, followed by the Wisconsin B boat which finished with a time of 14:23.822 and the Wisconsin C boat in 14:43.119.
