
Badgers complete day two of Arizona Diving Invite

The Wisconsin women's diving team completed Day Two of the Arizona Diving Invite in Tucson, Ariz., with sophomore Ciara Rinaudo posting the top Badger score in both days of competition so far. The only remaining event for Sunday is the platform competition, as the women finished the 3- meter board on Friday and the 1-meter board Saturday night.
Rinaudo placed eighth in the grand finals on Friday night in the 3-meter competition, closing out the day with a score of 254.40. In the consolation final of the same event, junior Emily Cheffins took first (272.35), followed by junior Jenny Hawkins .
On Saturday, Rinaudo was the top Badger finisher again, taking fifth in the 1-meter board with a final score of 271.40. University of Southern California's Tory Ishimatsu earned the top spot, and the winning score was 327.90.
Cheffins was the only Wisconsin diver to make it into the 1-meter consolation final, and she placed third (251.25), behind two members of the University of New Mexico team.
Competition continues Sunday night at the Arizona Diving Invite with the platform event. The Badgers have yet to dive off the platform in a meet yet this season. Check UWBadgers.com for Sunday's results.
