Siow Named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week

Wisconsin freshman Yi Ting Siow was named the Big Ten swimmer of the week Tuesday following her performance at the Southern Methodist Classic over the weekend in Dallas, Texas.
Siow earns her first career swimmer of the week honor after helping the Badgers to a fourth-place finish at the SMU Classic. The Seremban, Malaysia native posted an NCAA 'A' qualifying mark and set a Wisconsin school record, finishing first in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:11.59.
Siow also claimed first place finishes and recorded NCAA 'B ' marks in the 200 and 400-yard individual medley events with times of 2:01.51 and 4:16.34, respectively. She wrapped up her performance by helping her team record a fourth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:31.57).
Siow and the Wisconsin women's swimming and diving team will battle Arizona and Big Ten foe Penn State Friday and Saturday in Tucson, Ariz.
