Reason for choosing UW-Madison: "UW-Madison offered me the best of all worlds - athletic, academic, and social. The opportunity to continue racing and competing at a high level, on its own was enticing, but paired with the astronomy department (and their involvement in current frontline research, especially the IceCube project) and some familiar faces from home coming with me, there really was no other choice that even came close."

What Wisconsin Rowing means to you: "Wisconsin Rowing to me means resilience and excellence. Unlike many of our rivals on the coasts, the midwestern weather, which forces us inside, provides us with a unique opportunity to develop as gritty and internally motivated individuals and teammates. It was certainly daunting to leave a program where we were able to row almost the entire year, but stepping up to something challenging and a little scary was exactly the tone I wanted to set entering this phase of my career, and to know that many of my teammates faced the same decision fosters the sense of trust that separates good teams from great teams."
