F(oar) things to know: Wisconsin lightweight rowing to take on Eastern Michigan

First head-to-head matchup between the Badgers and Eagles lightweight teams
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's lightweight rowing team travels to our neighbors to the east to compete against Eastern Michigan University on Saturday, Oct. 10.
Here are f(oar) things to know before the Badgers hit the water:
1. THE COMPETITION: Saturday's race will mark the first head-to-head matchup between the Badgers and Eagles' lightweight teams. Eastern Michigan, which established its lightweight program last year, will host Wisconsin for its home debut.
The Eagles are coming off a third-place finish against Michigan State at the Head of the Grand, recording a time of 15:54.0.
2. THE LAST SWING: Wisconsin's women's lightweight rowing team opened their season at the Milwaukee River Challenge, earning multiple top finishes across the open fours and open eight races, with two race wins and four podium finishes.
Wisconsin's lightweight C boat led by Finley Jorgensen set the pace for the open eights with a first-place finish, crossing the line in 17:35.764. The lightweight A boat coxed by Charlotte Wise earned another first-place finish, crossing the line in 18:36.732
3. FOLLOW ALONG: Race results will be available on uwbadgers.com following the competition as well as the women's rowing Instagram.
4. UP NEXT: The team will continue out East and race at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Sunday, Oct. 18. To finish the fall season, the Badgers will race Minnesota on Lake Mendota on Saturday, Oct. 31.
