Drew Pittner-Smith serves as the Assistant Director of Marketing at the University of Wisconsin. In his role, he manages the sales and marketing initiatives for the Wisconsin men’s ice hockey program. Pittner-Smith also oversees all elements related to the game production at Wisconsin men’s hockey games. Â
In addition to his role with the hockey program, he also manages Badgerville, the official pregame tailgate of Wisconsin Football as overseeing the marketing student internship program. He was recognized in 2015 by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) for his efforts on a sponsorship activation involving PGA Tour Professional Steve Stricker and the PGA of America.
Prior to his role at the University of Wisconsin, Pittner-Smith served as the sales and marketing coordinator for Badger Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports. Prior to his stint in Madison, he had held the title of Video Coordinator for the Marquette University basketball program which preceded his role as a NBA/NCAA Quality Assurance Analyst for the video-indexing company, Synergy Sports Technology.
A former basketball student manager at Marquette University, Pittner-Smith graduated with a B.S. in broadcasting and electronic communications. He spent two additional seasons as the video coordinator for the basketball program while earning his M.B.A. from Marquette's Graduate School of Management.
Outside of his responsibilities at the University of Wisconsin, Pittner-Smith serves as tournament committee chairman for the PGA of America during events at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, where he has held numerous positions in the golf and hospitality industry over a span of seven seasons. He has served as tournament committee chairman for the 2015 PGA Championship, 2010 PGA Championship and 2007 U.S. Senior Open.
A native of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Pittner-Smith and his wife, Christa, reside in Stoughton with their daughter, Lena.
