2017-18 / Senior Season
Team captain … named to the Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch list … played all 37 games for the Badgers, tallying 22 points to rank sixth on the team … his eight goals on the season were a career-high … scored multiple points on four occasions … tallied eight power-play points during the season, including a career-high three power-play goals … led all Wisconsin forwards with 29 blocks … had a season-high three blocks in three contests … had a four-game point streak from Nov. 17-26, scoring two goals and three assists in the span … scored a goal and an assist in Wisconsin’s 3-2 win over Ohio State on Oct. 7 … tied a career-high three points in the 4-0 win over Northern Michigan in Oct. 21, tallying a goal and two assists … tabbed the game-winning goal in the Badgers’ 7-3 win against Michigan on Nov. 17 … also scored the game-tying goal the next night in a 4-4 tie with Michigan … dished out two assists in the 4-2 win over Mercyhurst on Nov. 26 … after the season, signed a three-year entry-level professional contract with the Boston Bruins, joining the AHL’s Providence Bruins on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) for the rest of the 2017-18 season.

Alternate captain ... one of five Badgers to play in all 36 games ... led all Badgers with 25 assists, adding seven goals for 32 points ... recorded 32 blocked shots, the most by a UW forward this season ... scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Ohio State on Jan. 28 at Madison Square Garden, adding an assist  in each game of the series ... earned Big Ten First Star of the Week for his play against the Buckeyes ... dished out a career-high three assists against Michigan on Feb. 18, going +2 in the 6-4 win ... assisted Wisconsin’s goal against Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament on March 18 ... went +3 against Clarkson on Oct. 29, dishing out two helpers ... scored a power-play goal and added an assist in UW’s 2-0 shutout of Northern Michigan on Nov. 5 ... awarded team’s Fenton Kelsey, Jr.-Mike Richter Most Competitive Award

2015–16 / Sophomore Season
Third on team with 19 assists ... Put together four multi-point outings over the course of seven games from Jan. 30-Feb. 27 ... Had at least one point in nine of his last 11 games and a modest four-game point streak (Feb. 26-March 5) to tie his longest streak of the season, before going scoreless against Minnesota on March 11-12 ... Compiled career-best four-point weekend at Ohio State (Feb. 26-27) on a goal and three assists, with a goal and two assists in the second game for his sixth multi-point game of the season. That weekend against Ohio State earned him the Big Ten Third Star of the Week honor, the first such distinction of his career ... His total of six multi-point games is tied for third on the team ... Posted a goal and an assist against Michigan State in a 4-3 loss (Feb. 19) ... Recorded a pair of assists in the series finale against Michigan (Feb. 13) in the 4-4 tie ... Registered a three-point weekend against Alaska (Jan. 29-30) to tie his then-career-high for a series, recording an assist in the series opener and a goal and an assist in the series finale ... That three-point weekend helped him surpass his point total from his freshman season where he had 13 points in 34 games ... Ended a 10-game stretch without a goal with his second-period tally against Minnesota on Jan. 23 ... Also had a three-point weekend at Michigan (Dec. 4-5), which included a two-assist game in the series finale ... Netted UW’s first penalty shot goal since Feb. 2, 2014 with his second-period goal against Arizona State (Oct. 30) ... Penalty shot goal against ASU was his first goal of the season and first in 17 games dating back to his freshman season ... Had first points of season on a pair of assists at Ferris State (Oct. 23). 

2014–15 / Freshman Season
Shared team freshmen lead with three goals and 12 points in 29 games played ... tied for eighth among Big Ten freshman in scoring ... first career point was an assist at Alaska Anchorage (Oct. 11) ... scored first career goal in 22nd career contest, in 4-4 overtime tie against Minnesota (Jan. 31) ... had both goals in UW's next game at Penn State (Feb. 6)

Before Hughes was a Badger
Spent two seasons (2012-14) with the Spruce Grove Saints of the AJHL ... scored 21 goals and 57 points in 51 games played during 2013-14 campaign ... total ranked 15th in the league despite his status as one of the league's youngest skaters ... had 17 points in playoffs and set up the tournament-winning overtime goal to give Spruce Grove the AJHL and the 2014 AJHL Gas Drive Cup ... recorded 11 goals and 31 points in 60 games during the 2012-13 season.
