Stienecker served as the Badgers director of player personnel from January 2023 until January 2025. He arrived in Madison in January 2023 from Cincinnati where he worked closely in the recruiting department with Pat Lambert, the now-Badgers' director of recruiting.
In 2023, Stienecker was named to 247Sports' 30 Under 30 after Stienecker became the youngest director of player personnel in college football history. Additionally, Stienecker was named to On3's '2022 rising star personnel staffers you need to know'. During his time in Madison, Stienecker has played a key role in roster construction, recruiting and scouting.
He started his career at Cincinnati as a student assistant in 2018 before moving into a director of on-campus recruiting role heading into the 2021 season. He worked closely with Lambert throughout his four years, developing and implementing the recruiting strategy for the department. Stienecker graduated from Cincinnati in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration.
