Spencer Rymiszewski joined the Badgers staff as a Special Teams and Defensive Analyst in 2023, working directly with the specialists and nickel backs.  During Rymiszewski’s three year coaching tenure prior to arriving in Madison, he has worked with some of the top defensive backs in the country. Rymiszewski spent the past two seasons (2021, 2022) with the New York Giants, working with defensive backs Darnay Holmes, Xavier McKinney, Adoree Jackson, Cordale Flott, Logan Ryan, and Jabrill Peppers.

Rymiszewski rejoins Luke Fickell after starting his career at Cincinnati, working as a defensive backs GA in 2020. The Bearcats (9-1) went on to win the American Athletic Conference and secure a New Year’s Six Peach Bowl berth. At Cincinnati, he coached 1st Team All-AAC Cornerbacks and 2022 NFL Draft picks Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner (New York Jets) and Coby Bryant (Seattle Seahawks).

As a player, Rymiszewski was a four-year starter at Cornerback for Yale University. The two-time 1st Team All-Ivy player was the sole captain for the Bulldogs in 2017, leading them to their first outright Ivy League Championship in 37 years.  Rymiszewski was born in Blacksburg, VA and was raised by his two Army veteran parents, who now reside in West Chester, PA. His father played football and rugby at Army West Point from 1978-1982. 

Rymiszewski is joined in Madison by his wife, Anaëlle Laplume, originally from Bordeaux, France.
