Badgers kick off fall season with Alumni Match

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's volleyball team kicks off its fall slate of matches with an Alumni Exhibition match at the Field House on Saturday, August 8. Wisconsin will face off against Badger volleyball alumni at 6:00 p.m. (CT).
Wisconsin will welcome 13 former Badgers to the Field House to take on the current Badgers in a best-of-five match. Eleven of the returning Badgers bring professional volleyball experience, with two Olympians and four Badger National Champions bolstering the lineup. The roster also includes three 2025 alumni in Alicia Andrew, Carter Booth and Mimi Colyer. Annemarie Hickey, Anna Smrek and Dana Rettke will not suit up, but will be the alumnae's coaches.
The Badgers will also drop it's 2025 NCAA National Semifinalists banner, with the help of Badger alumni Jada Cerniglia. Banner drop is scheduled for right at 6:00 p.m. In addition to the match activities, post-match autographs will be available and limited to one item being signed. In a first come, first serve basis, a poster of the 2026 Badgers and alumnae will be provided.
The current 2026 Wisconsin roster is led by junior duo Jaela Auguste and Charlie Fuerbringer, who both earned preseason nods from the conference and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). The duo earned their spot on the AVCA Player of the Year Watch List as two of student athletes named nationwide, alongside recognition on the All-Big Ten Preseason Team.
The Badgers enter the match after collecting a No. 2 spot in the Big Ten Preseason Poll, with Nebraska earning the unanimous No. 1 selection in the conference. Wisconsin, Penn State, Purdue and Minnesota round out the top five.
