The 2026 season will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, Sept. 6 against Notre Dame
MADISON, Wis. – The 2026 Wisconsin Football season will kick off in primetime at Lambeau Field on Sunday, September 6. The game's 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff time was announced on Thursday morning. Live coverage of the game will be carried by NBC and Peacock.
The meeting at Lambeau will be Wisconsin's third-straight season opener under the lights. The Badgers played night games at Camp Randall to open the 2025 (Miami OH) and 2024 (Western Michigan) seasons.Â
The Badgers return to Lambeau Field for the first time since 2016, when they defeated No. 5 LSU in thrilling fashion. Wisconsin kicker Rafael Gaglianone drilled a 47-yard field goal with 3:47 remaining, helping the Badgers secure a season-opening win in a season that culminated in a Cotton Bowl win over No. 12 Western Michigan.Â
Wisconsin will meet Notre Dame for the first time since 2021. Notre Dame secured a 41-13 win at Soldier Field in Chicago.Â
UW has won 10 of its last 11Â season openers, falling only to No. 19Â Penn State in 2021. The Badgers are 3-0 in season openers under Head Coach Luke Fickell.Â
After the opener in Green Bay, Wisconsin will return to Madison to host a pair of non-conference games against Western Illinois (Sept. 12) and Eastern Michigan (Sept. 19) before their Big Ten opener at Penn State on Sept. 26.
