UW competes at Lake Morey Invite
MADISON, Wis. - The No.14 Badger men's crew will travel to Fairlee, Vermont, for the Lake Morey Invite on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26.Â
1. WHAT TO KNOW --Â The Badgers will send three boats to the East Coast where they will compete against No. 7 Dartmouth, No. 17 Columbia and No. 19 Georgetown. No. 9 Syracuse and No. 12 Boston University are also racing in the regatta.
At the 2025 Lake Morey Invite, UW won the Jablonic Cup race against Boston University where the varsity eight boat finished with a time of 5:44.8
2. WHERE THEY LEFT OFF -- The Badgers last competed in the Cal Classic. UW fell short to No. 5 Stanford and No. 2 Cal on the first day of races. However, the Badgers excelled in races against No. 18 Temple and No. 23 Oregon State on the second day of the regatta.Â

3. WORDS FROM COACH HOOPMAN -- "This is the second and final weekend racing series for us before our conference championship Eastern Sprints on May 17. We had about 2.5 weeks of good training since California, where the younger guys have been making some solid progress. We're looking forward to testing ourselves against some quality in-conference crews for the first time this spring. We'll have another three-week training block after this weekend, where we'll look to continue building speed while finishing up the semester and getting through final exams/graduation. Busy times."
4. WHERE TO NEXT -- The Badgers will compete in the Eastern Sprints regatta on May 17 when they will travel to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts. The events serves as UW's conference championships.
