Badgers pick up sprint win and top-five finish at Beach Invitational

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Wisconsin men's track and field team turned in a strong showing on Saturday at the Beach Invitational, highlighted by a sprint victory and a top-five finish on the track.

Joshua Onwunili led the way for the Badgers, winning the 200 meters in 20.46 seconds. His time stands as the No. 1 wind-aided mark in Wisconsin history.

In the 400 meters, Zion Omotesa added another solid performance, placing fifth overall with a time of 47.26.

In the field, Jake Schaefer represented Wisconsin in the discus, recording a throw of 153 feet, 5 inches (46.76 meters)

At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Archie Noakes placed 12th in Heat 1 of the 1500 meters with a time of 3:45.31.

Up Next: The Badgers split competition for a weekend at the Penn Relays and Drake Relays from April 23-25.
