Badgers close out 5,000 meters at Bryan Clay
AZUSA, Calif – The Wisconsin men's track and field team closed out competition under the Friday night lights in the 5000 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Matan Ivri delivered one of the fastest 5000-meter performances of the night, finishing eighth in Heat 1 of the invite section with a time of 13 minute, 23.11 seconds. The Shimshit, Israel native's nine second PR moves Ivri up to No. 7 all-time and No. 3 in Israeli history.
In Heat 2, Johnny Livingstone and Christian de Vaal finished in 27th and 29th, with times of 13:59.10 and 14:15.00 respectively. To wrap up the Badger's performance in the 5000 meters, Liam Newhart won the third section of the 5K with a personal-best time of 13:40.60.
Up Next: Wisconsin wraps up competition at the Beach Invitational on Saturday at 12:00 p.m., with results available on Finished Timing.
