Badgers split the weekend with a loss against USC
MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin women's tennis fell to No. 17 USC on Sunday, March 8, 4-1. The Badgers were unable to build on the momentum from Friday's historic win over UCLA.
Doubles play opened with tight competition across all three courts, with each match locked at 4-4 early. Wisconsin grabbed a strong win at No. 2 doubles as the pair pushed ahead for a 6-4 victory. However, USC secured wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles in close sets to claim the doubles point and take the early lead.
In singles play, Maria Sholokhova and Ekaterina Ivanova both opened strong, earning first-set wins of 6-3 and 6-1, respectively. Sholokhova carried that momentum into the second set, dominating to secure Wisconsin's lone point of the match.
