Badgers split weekend with dominant win over Scarlet Knights
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Wisconsin women's tennis closed out its East Coast trip with a dominant 4-0 sweep over Rutgers on Sunday afternoon.Â
The Badgers set the tone early by taking control of doubles play. Ekaterina Ivanova and Ellison Reynoldson got things started with a decisive 6-2 win over Nguyen/Frankowska. Maria Sholokhova and Kaede Usui followed with another 6-2 victory over Ilker and Jumazhanova to clinch the doubles point for the Badgers. Tianna Rangan and Kaja Jacobson held a 5-2 lead in their match, as Wisconsin secured the early 1-0 advantage heading into singles.
The Badgers carried that momentum into singles play, quickly adding to their lead. Maria Sholokhova continued her strong weekend with a commanding 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.
