Badgers post two-top ten marks in relay and discus
TAMPA, Fla. - The Wisconsin women's track and field team opened their outdoor season at the USF Alumni Invitational, highlighted by two top‑ten marks in the Badger record book.
The 4x100‑meter relay of Luciana Aizpurua, Sydney Robinson, Catalina Sanchious, and Rachel Robinson raced together for the first time and immediately stamped their names into program history. The quartet crossed the line in 46.03 seconds, moving to No. 9 all‑time at Wisconsin and placing 12th overall in the event.Â
Hadley Lucas added another top-ten mark with a personal best in the discus. She threw 171 feet (52.12m) to place eighth, a mark that moves her to No. 8 in the UW record book. She was followed by Zonica Lindeque, who placed ninth with a toss of 167‑11 (51.18m).Â
The sprinters continued their work in the 100 meters, with Aizpurua finishing first for the Badgers in 11.90 and placing 21st overall.
Elissa Perkins delivered a strong finish in the triple jump, placing seventh with a mark of 40 feet, 2 ¼ inches (12.55m). Â
The weekend concluded with the 4x400 squad of Aizpurua, Sydney Robinson, Sanchious and Rachel Robinson finishing 15th in 3:56.89
UP NEXT: Wisconsin heads to California for the first time this outdoor season to compete at the Ron and Sharlene Alice Trojan Invite in Los Angeles, hosted by the University of Southern California on Saturday, March 28.
