Wisconsin opens outdoor season with strong performances

Taylor Kesner wins javelin and Danni Langseth is runner-up in shot put
TAMPA, Fla. - The Wisconsin women's track and field team opened its outdoor season at the USF Alumni Invitational on Friday, highlighted by standout performances from Taylor Kesner and Danni Langseth.
Kesner kicked off the weekend with a win in the javelin, throwing 166 feet, 11 inches (50.89m).
In the shot put, Langseth delivered a personal best of 55‑0 ¼ (16.77m), strengthening her hold on the No. 7 spot on the Wisconsin all-time list. Her previous best was 54‑6 ¾ (16.63m), the mark that originally moved her into seventh. Zonica Lindeque placed sixth in the event with a throw of 50‑1 ¾ (15.28m), and Hadley Lucas finished 10th.
Morgan Flaska added another strong result for the Badger throwers, taking fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 183‑7 (55.97m).
Elissa Perkins added a solid result for UW in the long jump, placing 14th with a mark of 18‑5 ¾ (5.63m).
On the track, seven Badgers lined up in the 200 meters. Sydney Robinson led the group, finishing first for Wisconsin and 27th overall in 24.38 seconds.
