Badgers win nine events in Madison
MADISON, Wisc. - The Wisconsin women's track team performed well at the Badger Challenge on Friday at the McClimon Track Complex, highlighted by strong senior performances on Senior Day.
Wisconsin seniors dominated on senior night, claiming five of UW's nine wins on the day.
Luciana Aizpurua started the women off strong in the 100 meter, with a first-place finish personal best of 11.56, strengthening her top-10 mark in the event.
Senior Sydney Robinson continued the Badgers' string of victories, winning the 200 meters in 24.46.
Lily Hamacher ran away with the women's 400 hurdles, placing first with a 1:01.08 in her Badger debut.
Senior Kylie Finger finished off the running events with a triumph in the 1500 meters, crossing the line in 4:13.54.
Elissa Perkins won the long jump with a 19-8 ¼ (6.00m) while Kyla Saleh won the high jump with a mark of 5-4 ½ (1.64m)
Sara Mlodik finished first for the Badgers and third overall in the 5000 meters in 16:21.43. Liv Phillips crossed the line 16:41.96, her personal best, good for fifth.Â
The women swept the field in the discus, finishing 1-3. Senior Taylor Kesner won the event with a throw of 185 feet, 10 inches (56.64m), followed by Zonica Lindeque finishing close behind with 177-7 (54.14m). Kesner's throw is a season-best mark and ranks fourth in the Big Ten Conference. Vasiliki Samolada finished third, throwing 169-11 (51.81m).
The throwing highlights continued with the shot put, as senior Danni Langseth won the event with a throw of 53-6 ½ (16.32m). Hadley Lucas trailed Langseth, placing third with a mark of 52-3 ¾ (15.94m).
Kesner finished off the night with a victory in the javelin, her second win of the day, throwing 165-5 (50.42m).
Up next: The Badgers will have a weekend off before starting postseason action with the 2026 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Lincoln, Nebraska. The meet is slated to begin on Friday, May 15 and wraps up on Sunday, May 17.Â
