Five things to know: Badgers prepare for three meet weekend

Badgers head to Boston, Chicago and Texas this week
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's track and field team will attend three different meets this weekend in Boston, Chicago and Texas.Â
A group of Badgers will head back to Chicago for the second weekend in a row for the Blue Demon Alumni Classic, hosted by DePaul at Gatley Park. The meet is scheduled to start at Noon on Friday.Â
Three distance runners are set to compete at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston on Saturday, Feb.14 at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. Saturday's fun is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. CT. Meet information can be found here and live results are available here.Â
The Jarvis Scott Invite will take place on both Friday, Feb.13 and Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Sports Performance Center in Luddox, Texas hosted by Texas Tech. Live results will be available here. The meet will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.Â
1. CLIMBING THAT LADDER: Elissa Perkins and Luciana Aizpurua moved their way up in the record book this past weekend at the Wisconsin Windy City Invite. Aizpurua kicked the weekend off, surpassing her prior PR in the 60 meter dash. She crossed the finish line in 7.50, moving her to No. 6 from No. 7 in the UW indoor record book. Elissa Perkins also had top-10 success this weekend, jumping her personal best in the triple jump of 41 feet, 5 ¼ inches (12.63m), moving to No.3 in the record book. Prior to this weekend Perkins held the No. 5 spot from her jump in January at the Indiana Invitational. Aizpurua and Perkins are set to compete at the Jarvis Scott Invite in Luddox Texas this weekend.
2. FINDING THEIR MOMENTUM: The Badgers had a solid showing in Chicago at the Wisconsin Windy City Invite with five victories. UW had three top-five finishes in the weight throw, Taylor Kesner winning the event with a toss of 73-0 (22.25m), followed by Nora Skoraczewski, 65-9 (20.04m) and Danni Langseth finished in fifth with a mark of 64-4 (19.61m). They had a 1-2 finish in shot put with Zonica Lindeque winning with a toss of 51-11 (15.82m), her season best, followed by Langseth, 50-9 ½ (15.48m). Sara Mlodik kicked the distance runners off with a strong showing in the 5000 meters, winning it in 16:30.73, a personal best. Kylie Finger rounded out the Badger success on Friday evening, winning the mile invite race in 4:40.57. Bella Jacobsen won the open mile on Saturday afternoon, running her personal best of 4:54.26.Â
3. BACK AT GATELY: Four Badgers are set to compete in the weight throw at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic this upcoming weekend including Taylor Kesner, Nora Skoraczewski, Danni Langseth and Morgan Flaska. Kesner had success last weekend, winning the weight throw and will look to keep her momentum this coming weekend. Nora Skoraczewski finished third in the weight throw with a toss of 65-9 (20.04m) followed by Danni Langseth who placed fifth with a mark of 64-4 (19.61m). The weight throw is set to start at 12 p.m. CT and shot put will follow at 4 p.m. CT.Â
