Badgers find success at fall season closer
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Wisconsin men's rowing team performed strongly at the 2026 Princeton Chase regatta.
Two Badger boats landed top-two spots in the final race.
To kick off the eight races, Wisconsin A landed in the top-five to take them into the final at 12.36.254. Wisconsin B and C collected 12th and 34th place finishes, with the B boat advancing. In the second round of races, the A boat finished in second at 13.05.544 while the B boat crossed the finish line at 13.35.729 in seventh place.
After the first round of competition for the pairs, the Badgers moved onto a final round where they came out on top.
The Wisconsin B boat finished in first of the Men's 2 Final 1 race at a time of 15.47.629. Just seconds behind the Badger B boat was the Wisconsin A boat, finishing in second place at 15.59.468.
With a sixth-place finish was the Wisconsin C boat, with a time of 16.21.323. In seventh place was the Wisconsin D boat at a time of 16.21.359.

"The morning session was good. That's the fastest raw time for each boat class that we've had here. We still need some guys to step into leadership roles and be consistent on the erg. They're a good group of racers, but everyone will need to make gains on land before the spring racing season if we plan to move up in the rankings. They are willing to go into the pain zone though, and that's necessary to be successful at this sport. The afternoon was great, more fun than anything, especially winning an event the few others are willing to enter. Those top two boats will test themselves in two weeks back out here for Small Boat Nationals."
Up Next: The Badgers go into hibernation until the 2027 rowing season.
