UW set to kick off regular season in Kohl Center

MADISON, Wis. - The No. 8 Wisconsin women's volleyball program kicks off the 2025 regular season by hosting the Opening Spike Classic at the Kohl Center, as they will take on No. 14 Kansas on Friday, Aug. 29 and No. 5 Texas on Sunday, Aug. 31.

The Badgers will battle against the Jayhawks at 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, as it will be followed by a matchup between the aforementioned Longhorns and No. 12 Creighton.

On Sunday, UW faces off against Texas at 1:00 p.m. CT, with Kansas and the Bluejays playing in the final game at 3:30 p.m. CT to conclude an eventful weekend in Madison.

Each of the games will be nationally televised on Big Ten Network (BTN). Fans can purchase tickets for the event, HERE.

Wisconsin last played in the Kohl Center on Sept. 17 of last season, housing one of the largest crowds of the year in the nation against Marquette—besting the Golden Eagles in four sets.

The Badgers are led by their captains, a pair of 2024 AVCA All-Americans, in senior Carter Booth and sophomore Charlie Fuerbringer, amongst a plethora of experienced transfers and newcomers to the 2025 roster.

They recently defeated Notre Dame 3-1 in their lone exhibition match of the season, led by the likes of redshirt sophomore Grace Egan and senior Mimi Colyer.
