Junior named Wisconsin’s 2025 Big Ten honoree
MADISON, Wis. – Junior Spencer Turtz was recognized as one of 18 Sportsmanship Award honorees by the Big Ten Conference.Â
Â
The students chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. In addition, the students must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.Â
Spencer Turtz is currently going into his senior year and has been a consistent contributor on Wisconsin's lineup. He also served as a substitute at this year's 2025 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship. Â
"Spencer exudes sportsmanship every day. He's always lifting up his teammates on a daily basis," says head coach Mike Wilson, "Although he did not play in the lineup at Big Tens, he was there to support his teammates and lift their spirits at every moment. Spencer is the ultimate team guy in an individual sport."Â
