BADGERS AWARDED WIN OVER MICHIGAN STATE: On March 18, the Big Ten Conference ruled that the team result of the March 14 men's tennis match between Michigan State and Wisconsin has been overturned. The action was taken after Michigan State played a lineup different than what was approved by the coaches' group during the midweek lineup review process, in violation of Big Ten Conference game management policies and procedures.
As a result, the No. 6 singles point is awarded to Wisconsin to result in a 4-3 match victory for the Badgers. Individual student-athletes' records and rankings will not be impacted.
Over the weekend, the sophomore partnership at No. 1 doubles continued to shine for Wisconsin. Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek added two more victories this weekend, bringing their season record to 9-3. On Friday, the pair took down Michigan State's nationally ranked Aristotelis Thanos and Ozan Baris. The confidence was evident as Olsson and Zlatohlavek cruised to a 6-1 victory against their Michigan foes on Sunday to remain undefeated in Big Ten play.
Freshman Edouard Aubert dominated in the No. 5 slot over the weekend. He cruised to straight set victories in both matches, improving to an impressive 8-2 overall record (3-1 conference). Sophomore Matthew Fullerton notched a straight set victory over MSU's No. 63 ranked Matthew Forbes on Friday night.
