Wisconsin hosts Lock Haven and Utah Valley in Madison
MADISON, Wisc - Wisconsin wrestling returns to the UW Field House on Thursday for a home doubleheader, welcoming Lock Haven and Utah Valley to Madison. The Badgers look to build on a strong early-season stretch as they face two non-conference opponents. UW takes on Lock Haven at 5 p.m., and will wrestle Utah Valley at 7 p.m..
1. The Last Time OutÂ
Wisconsin is coming off an 11-day break after two decisive wins over Army and Hofstra to close out its weekend on the East Coast. The Badgers extended their undefeated start with a 24-12 victory at Army, highlighted by strong performances from Wyatt Ingham and Braxton Amos that helped Wisconsin secure the win. The following day, Wisconsin capped the trip with a dominating 41-0 shutout of Hofstra, marking the program's first full team sweep in over a decade.
2. Scouting the Lock Haven Bald EaglesÂ
The Bald Eagles are coming off a dominant win over Clarion at home, where their middle and upper weights carried the lineup and led the way to victory. Lock Haven comes to Wisconsin with five InterMat-ranked wrestlers, including graduate student No. 32 Avery Bassett, who already holds a 12–3 record this season. Wisconsin will be looking to avenge its loss to Lock Haven from last year when the two teams meet Thursday.
3. Scouting the Utah Valley WolverinesÂ
The Wolverines are set for their second Big Ten matchup of the season after a weekend that included a loss to Iowa and a win over Chattanooga. Geronimo Rivera and Jack Forbes picked up decisive wins against the Hawkeyes, scoring valuable points against the No. 4-ranked opponent. Wisconsin leads the all-time series 4–0 over the Wolverines and also found success against them earlier this season at the Iowa State Invite.
