Wisconsin looks for 4th straight win over Milwaukee

Here are five things to know before the Badgers face the Panthers:
1. A NEW ERA BEGINS:Â Saturday marks the first road game under head coach Robin Pingeton, who takes over after 15 seasons at Missouri. Pingeton brings a proven track record with 10 postseason appearances and multiple WNBA draft picks. She leads a roster anchored by returners Ronnie Porter and Lily Krahn, along with eight newcomers, highlighted by MEAC Player of the Year Destiny Howell.
2. HISTORY VS. THE PANTHERS:Â This will be the 34th all-time meeting between the Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Panthers. Wisconsin holds a 29-4 series advantage overall and a 19-2 edge at home.
The series dates back to Jan. 28, 1975, when the Badgers earned a 75-55 victory.Â
Wisconsin has won the last three contests, most recently claiming an 82-45 win on Nov. 17, 2024.
3. SCOUTING THE PANTHERS:Â The Panthers are led by Wisconsin women's basketball alumna, head coach Kyle Rechlicz, now in her 14th season at the helm.
In their first two games of the 2025‑26 campaign, Milwaukee is averaging 65.5 points per game, while allowing 62.0 points per game.Â
As a team, they are shooting 43.7% from the field, 35.3% from three‑point range, and 68.3% from the free‑throw line. Key players include junior forward Jorey Buwalda, who leads in scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (11.5 rpg).Â
4. LAST TIME OUT:Â The Wisconsin women's basketball team fell to Marquette, 65-62, in overtime on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Al McGuire Center. Wisconsin shot 34.8% (23-66) from the field, 22.2% (6-27) from three, and 71.4% (10-14) from the free-throw line, while Marquette shot 39.0% (23-59) from the field, 33.3% (5-15) from three, and 73.7% (14-19) from the free-throw line.
Kyrah Daniels led the Badgers with 17 points and five rebounds, and Gift Uchenna recorded her first double-double as a Badger with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Laci Steele contributed five steals, and Wisconsin's bench outscored Marquette's, 15-7.
5. LOOKING AHEAD: Up next, Wisconsin will host Bowling Green on Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. (CT) at the Kohl Center. The game will be streamed on B1G+.
