de Vaal and Newhart Lead Wisconsin with Top-10 finishes in Evansville
EVANSVILLE, Ind – The Wisconsin men's cross country team delivered a strong performance at the 2025 NCA Great Lakes Regional on Friday morning, placing third with 99 points at Angel Mounds in Evansville.
The Badgers packed up front early, led by a pair of top-10 finishes. Sophomores Christian de Vaal and Liam Newhart crossed the line less than a second from each other, finishing in seventh with a time of 29 minutes, 55.78 seconds and eighth at 29:55.81 respectively. Johnny Livingstone added a top-20 result, placing 16th in 30:31.31. By finishing in the top-25, these three Badgers have earned All-Region honors.
Rounding out Wisconsin's scoring five, Micah Wilson placed 31st in 30:47.71 and Bryce Stachewicz finished 37th in 31:00.21. Archie Noakes also contributed a solid effort, taking 48th in 31:27.91.
The Wisconsin men's cross country team expects to receive an at-large big during tomorrow's Selection Show announcement.
