
Badgers finish ninth at Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour

Wisconsin finished as top Big Ten team
MADISON, Wis. – The No. 12 Wisconsin men's cross country team finished ninth on Friday at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
Wisconsin's top three runners finished less than a second apart, with Archie Noakes leading the pack in 23 minutes, 31.1 seconds to finish 53rd. Freshman Grady Lenn (23:31.1) placed 54th, and Johnny Livingstone (23:31.8) crossed the line in 55th.
The Badgers' 9th place made them the top Big Ten team, ahead of Minnesota and Washington, ranked No. 13 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Coaches' Poll. Overall, Wisconsin finished ahead of 13 ranked teams, including No. 2 Iowa State and No. 11 Northern Arizona.
In the "B" race, Cillian Gleeson finished 11th with a 24:06.8, and Nick Gilles (24:17.3) placed 20th.
UP NEXT: Wisconsin will return home to begin its postseason schedule with the Big Ten Championship meet at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The women's 6K race will begin at 10:35 a.m., with the men's 8K following at 11:35 a.m.
