Badgers find success in breaststroke events

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers women's swim and dive team won six events in a triangular meet against No. 10 Michigan and Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, Friday afternoon. Wisconsin topped Notre Dame, 194.50-105-50, but fell just short of Michigan, 155-145.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman Brooke Corrigan led the pack with a first-place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.96, as three other Badgers rounded out the top four. Bridget McGann and Hazal Ozkan rounded out the top three finishers in the event, with times of 1:02.43 and 1:02.61, respectively. Corrigan, McGann, Ozkan and Stella Chapman went one, two, three and four in the 200 breast, as Corrigan finished with a time of 2:12.76.

Sophomore Maggie Wanezek found success in both of her events, taking first in the 100 back in 52.23 and first in the 200 back in 1:53.65.

Blair Stoneburg won the 500 free with a time of 4:51.77, as Maddie Waggoner finished shortly behind in 4:53.49.

In the diving well, Ryane Neal notched a top-three finish on the 1-meter with 282.20 points, and led the Badgers with a fifth-place showing on the 3-meter.

UP NEXT
The Badgers will travel to Minneapolis for a Border Battle against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Friday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m.
