Badgers come up short on Senior Day

Wisconsin wins six events

MADISON, Wis. – The No. 18 men's Wisconsin swimming and diving team came up short against Northwestern 163.5-136.5 on Saturday afternoon at Soderholm Aquatic Center.

In his final dual meet with Wisconsin, Yigit Aslan took home first in his only event of the day in the 1000 freestyle. Senior Nico Butera also finished first in the 200 freestyle. 

Dominik Mark Torok finished first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:56.20 and the 200 IM with a time of 1:45.08, the junior also put up a second place finish in the 200 butterfly. 

Cooper Scharff just edged out Ben Wiegand in the 100 freestyle with a time of 19.67, beating Wiegand by one tenth of a second. Charlie Jones earned an impressive first place finish in the 100 butterfly, with a time of 46.71. 

In the diving well, Jaden Eikermann finished first on the 10m platform with 364.05 points. Jan Lanser came in with a fifth place finish with 301.20 points. In the 1-meter, the two finished fourth and fifth, as Jaden scored 272.93 and Jan finished with 272.25 points.

The Badgers will travel to South Bend, Ind. for the Tim Welsh Classic next weekend on Jan. 24-25.
