MADISON, Wis. – This weekend, the Wisconsin men's hockey team travels to University Park, Pennsylvania, for a series against No. 18 Penn State on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16, at Pegula Ice Arena.
Friday's game starts at 6 p.m. CT and Saturday's game starts at 6:30 p.m. CT. Both games stream on B1G+.
Here are six quick things to know before tuning in:
Rosters: Badgers || Nittany Lions
1 - PENN STATE STREAK: Wisconsin owns wins in five consecutive games played against Penn State, including all four meetings last year and both games played in University Park. The Badgers have won three consecutive games in the series at Penn State, their longest road win streak in series history. The five-game win streak is tied for the longest for the Badgers over the Nittany Lions since they first met in 2013.
2 - FINLEY STAYS HOT: Sophomore forward Quinn Finley has continued his hot start to the season, scoring goals number six and seven last weekend against Minnesota.
He currently shares the Big Ten lead with seven goals through 10 games. Finley also shares fourth place in the country with his seven tallies. The Suamico, Wisconsin, native tallied 10 times last season as a freshman, one of seven Badgers to score in double figures.
3 - WEEKEND RECAP: Wisconsin hits the road after being swept by No. 3 Minnesota at home last weekend. Through 10 games, UW has a 2-8-0 record (1-5-0 Big Ten) and is tied for second in the conference with six points.
In game one against Minnesota, despite owning a 2-0 lead midway through the second period, Wisconsin lost, 3-2, in regulation. The Badgers lit the lamp first 13:44 into the first period on a power-play goal from Quinn Finley. UW's Kyle Kukkonen extended the Badger's lead 1:21 into the second period. Minnesota scored two goals in the second period, one short-handed and one on the power play, to send the game into the third period tied at three. Jimmy Snuggerud's second goal of the night with 7:15 remaining in the contest gave Minnesota a 3-2 victory
In game two, the Badgers lost, 3-2, in overtime. Minnesota lit the lamp first, on the power play, with 7:42 remaining in the first period. Wisconsin responded with 4:12 left in the second period when
Ryland Mosley put home his third goal of the year.
Quinn Finley gave the Badgers a 2-1 lead with 32 seconds left in the second period, but the Gophers tied it up on a power play with 6:04 remaining in the third to send the game to overtime. Minnesota scored the game-winner 3:21 into the extra time to earn the extra conference point with a final score of 3-2.
4 - UPCOMING HOME PROMOTIONS: Following its series at Penn State, Wisconsin has the week off before hosting Alaska Anchorage at the Kohl Center on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29-30. Saturday's game is 'Badgers Beyond Borders' themed. Join us in celebrating our Badgers from around the world.
The annual BMO Teddy Toss takes place on Friday, Dec. 6 after the Badgers' game against defending Big Ten champion Michigan State. Fans are encouraged to bring a new/gently used teddy bear to throw on the ice to be donated to Toys For Tots. Additionally, the game is 'winter wonderland' themed – the first 500 students will receive a holiday beanie, and fans are asked to wear their best holiday sweater. The Dec. 6 game also serves as military appreciation night as we remember Pearl Harbor and honor all those who served.
Saturday, Dec. 7 is Joe Pavelski Night. Join us as we recognize the recently retired 18-year NHL veteran and Wisconsin native's outstanding hockey career.

5 - SCOUTING THE NITTANY LIONS: No. 18 Penn State (4-3-0, 0-2-0 Big Ten), who had last week off, enters the series after most recently being swept by Minnesota in Minneapolis on Nov. 1-2. The Nittany Lions lost game one, 3-1, and game two, 1-0. They are searching for their first Big Ten points of the season.
Sophomore forward Aidan Fink leads the roster with nine points (2g, 7a) in seven games played, while sophomore forward Reese Laubach leads the team with four goals. Junior goaltender Arsenii Sergeev has four wins in seven starts, accumulating a 1.70 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.
