MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team is coming off a big 3-0 win against LSU to head on another road contest.
1. KNOW THE OPPONENT: This is the third contest between both teams, with the last matchup coming in 2015.
The Broncos are under the direction of second-year head coach Lewis Robinson and are 3-0 on the campaign.
Leading the team in goals is Jen Blitchok, with two on the season. The Broncos average 1.33 goals per game and take 12.7 shots per game. WMU is first in the nation for win-loss percentage with their perfect record.
2. PLAYERS TO WATCH: Emma Jaskaniec had a night on Thursday, scoring two goals and an assist. She was named a Big Ten Player to Watch for 2023 and claimed Big Ten Midfielder of the Year in the 2022 season.
Goalkeeper Erin McKinney has claimed the only two Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the season. She has picked up four shutouts in the five games, only allowing two goals in the back of the net.
Looking at the Broncos grad transfer, Blitchok, is a player to watch. She transferred to WMU from Indiana last season. Both of the goals she tallied have been game-winners, and claims .500 shots on goal percentage.
3. RECAPPING THE WEEK: The Badgers are coming off an impressive 3-0 win against LSU. This win also happened to be coach Wilkins 300th career win. Aryssa Mahrt scored the first of the game in minute 14' off a bounce from Jaskaniec. Jaskaniec scored the other two goals at 52' and 78'. McKinney claimed five saves, four of which came in the second half.
