1. ALL-TIME vs. PROVIDENCE

Tuesday's game will mark the sixth all-time meeting between Wisconsin and Providence in a series that dates back to 1961. Providence leads the all-time series, 4-1, which includes a 2-0 advantage for games played in Providence. The Friars have won four-straight games in the series.

The two teams last met in 2021 as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. In that most recent meeting, the Friars earned a 63-58 win over the Badgers at the Kohl Center. Tyler Wahl scored a then-career-high 16 points (7-12 FG) with five rebounds and two blocks in 36 minutes played. Steven Crowl, Chucky Hepburn and Markus Ilver also saw action.

2. LET THE (GAVITT) GAMES BEGIN

Wisconsin and Providence meet this season as part of the eighth-annual Gavitt Tipoff Games, a unique early-season series between the BIG EASY and Big Ten conferences. The event is named in honor of Hall of Famer Dave Gavitt, founder of the BIG EAST.

This marks UW's fifth appearance in the Gavitt Tipoff Games. The Badgers last participated in 2021 vs. Providence at the Kohl Center.

Wisconsin is 102-91 all-time against teams in the BIG EAST Conference.

3. LAST TIME OUT

Wisconsin battled with No. 9 Tennessee, but was unable to ultimately take control in a game that featured four ties. The Badgers fell, 80-70, at the Kohl Center last Friday night. UW pulled within three points (59-56) with 8:00 remaining in the second half, but Tennessee scored on its next four possessions to begin pulling away.

The Vols shot 50 percent from the floor, led by a game-high 24 points from Dalton Knecht.

For Wisconsin, sophomore AJ Storr scored 17 points (12 in the first half alone) to lead four Badgers in double-figure scoring. Steven Crowl posted a near double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Chucky Hebpurn finished with 13 points. Tyler Wahl contributed 10 points (all in the second half) and eight rebounds.

4. QUALITY COMPETITION

Coming off of a home game vs. No. 9 Tennessee last Friday, this week the Badgers head out on the road for the first time for a game at Providence. Tuesday's road contest will be yet another early-season test in a non-conference schedule that will challenge Wisconsin throughout the months of November and December.

According to ESPN.com, the Badgers have the fourth-toughest remaining strength of schedule in the country, trailing only Alabama, Michigan and Purdue.

Last season, UW faced three ranked teams the entire season. This year, the Badgers are scheduled to play four ranked teams in the first 10 games alone. That includes three games against teams ranked in the preseason top 10.

5. SOMETHING IN STORR

Sophomore transfer AJ Storr has already begun to showcase his offensive skillset with Wisconsin. A BIG EAST All-Freshman honoree last year with St. John's, the 6-foot-7 guard has hit the ground running in Madison.

Storr scored 15 points in his Wisconsin debut vs. Arkansas State, the most by a non-freshman in his UW debut since at least 2000. Storr followed that up last Friday with a team-high 17 points vs. No. 9 Tennessee.

Storr is the first Badger to score in double figures in each of his first two games since Devin Harris in the 2001-02 season.
