Five Things to Know: Badgers begin road trip with St. Thomas

UW opens six-game road swing with trip to the Twin Cities
MADISON, Wis. – The top-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team will begin its six-game road stint with a series against St. Thomas. Puck drop on Friday is set for 6 p.m., while Saturday's series finale will begin at 5 p.m.
Fans can watch both games on Big Ten Plus while Saturday's contest can be heard on 1070 AM in the Madison area.
1. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin finished its three-series home stay with a sweep over Bemidji State. The Badgers blitzed the Beavers 4-0 on Friday night before picking up an 8-1 victory on Saturday afternoon to advance to 8-0-0. Britta Curl extended her goal streak as she tallied a score on both days, while Kirsten Simms joined the 50-point club after a two-goal performance on Saturday. Goalies Jane Gervais and Ava McNaughton each picked up a win in the sweep, and goalie Chloe Baker saw her first minutes as a Badger in the series finale.
2. WILGREN GRABS WCHA WEEKLY AWARD: For the first time as a Badger, senior blueliner Anna Wilgren has been named the WCHA Defender of the Week. Wilgren enjoyed a three-point weekend against Bemidji State as she posted two assists in the Badgers' 4-0 win against Bemidji State on Friday before adding an assist in UW's 8-1 win on Saturday. The Hudson, Wisconsin, native earned four WCHA Defender of the Week honors while at Minnesota State.
3. BADGERS IN THE PROS: The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) has announced that 16 Badgers have made the inaugural Training Camp rosters. All 13 of the Wisconsin alumni acquired in free agency and the draft have earned spots on the rosters. Three additional former Badgers were given spots as undrafted free agents, including Cami Kronish, Madison Packer and Sam Cogan. Training camps will begin November 15 in each of the markets.
4. SCORING STREAKS: Captain Britta Curl currently holds a seven-game scoring streak with eight goals heading into the St. Thomas series. Curl's scoring run ties for fourth in school history and is the longest since Daryl Watts' seven-game 11-goal streak from Jan. 8, 2021 to Feb. 5, 2021. Junior Lacey Eden also found herself with an impressive streak as she posted 11 goals in six-straight games to tie for 13th in school history.
5. AGAINST THE TOMMIES: Wisconsin leads the all-time series against St. Thomas 7-0-0, including five wins for the Badgers when visiting the Tommies. UW outscored St. Thomas 23-2 in their four meetings during the 2022-23 season. Kirsten Simms tallied five points last season against the Tommies, while Jane Gervais picked up a pair of wins in net.
