MADISON, Wis. – It's time to go dancing! For the 22nd time in the last 23 NCAA tournaments, the Badgers will be playing in "The Big Dance." Wisconsin drew a No. 3 seed and will face 14th-seeded Colgate on Friday night, 8:50 p.m. (CT) at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

Before the March Madness tips off, here is the Starting Five:

1.) B1G Representation: A total of nine Big Ten teams will be dancing this March – the most of any conference. UW won a share of the regular season conference title after going 15-5 in league play. The Badgers went 8-2 on the road against B1G foes.

2.) Major Wins: Wisconsin went 16-5 against Quad 1 and 2 opponents this season. The program's nine Quad 1 wins are the fifth most in college basketball. Some of those victories included: vs. No. 12 Houston in the Maui Invitational, at No. 3 Purdue, and at No. 17 Michigan State.

3.) B1G Player of the Year: Johnny Davis was recognized as the Big Ten Player of the Year. The sophomore sensation is averaging 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He has hit 30 points or more in three games this year – 30 pts vs. Houston, 37 pts at Purdue, and 30 pts at Indiana. Davis is also a finalist for the 2022 Jerry West Award and has recorded five double-doubles.

4.) Badgers Waltz: The No. 3 seed is UW's highest seed since they received a No. 1 in 2015. Wisconsin is 39-24 (.619) all-time in the tourney and has won 14 NCAA tournament games since 2014, trailing only Michigan (16) for the most among Big Ten teams. The Badgers are 9-0 against teams seeded 13th or lower. UW is 12-6 (.667) against schools in the 2022 tournament field. Wisconsin and Purdue are the only programs with 12 wins against the field.

5.) Wisconsin Meets Colgate: The Badgers are 1-0 all-time against Colgate. The lone meeting between the two programs came back in 2011 with UW beating the Raiders, 68-41, at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin is 6-0 against Patriot League teams, including two of those wins coming in the NCAA tournament when they beat Bucknell in 2005 and American in 2014.
