Wisconsin will celebrate Senior Day at final game

MADISON, Wis.—  The No. 3 Wisconsin women's hockey team will host its final home series of the season with Minnesota State coming to LaBahn Arena on Friday and Saturday. Puck drop on Friday is set for 6 p.m. while Saturday's contest begins at 4 p.m.  

Fans who are unable to attend can listen to both games with Reid Magnum on the call. Friday's game can be heard on 1070 AM while Saturday's contest will air on 100.9 FM Fans can also stream the games on B1G+.

For parking, on Friday parking is free in Lot 91 from 4:30 - 9 p.m. On Saturday, parking is $5 in Lots 29, 46 and 91 and fans can start parking in those lots at 1:30 p.m. Women's hockey fans are asked to exit the lots following the conclusion of the game to make room for men's hockey permit holders. 

The series was originally scheduled to be a Saturday-Sunday showdown. Sunday tickets will be now be valid for Friday's game with the Mavericks while Saturday tickets will remain valid for Saturday.

1. ABOUT LAST WEEKEND: The Badgers split a highly contested series at LaBahn Arena last weekend  The Badgers fell 3-0 in the first game but pulled back in a big for the second game. Wisconsin pulled off a 5-1 win on Saturday with a hat trick from Daryl Watts and multipoint games from Nicole LaMantia, Casey O'Brien and Makenna Webster.

2. MINNESOTA STATE SUCCESS: All-time, the Badgers are 93-3-3 against the Mavericks and have won the last four meetings between the teams. Wisconsin faced Minnesota State on the road earlier this season and came home with 2-1 win and a 6-2 win to sweep. Webster led the team with five points over the sweep, including a hat trick in the second game. Grace Bowlby and O'Brien each put up three points over the weekend.

3. SENIOR CELEBRATION: Before Saturday's game against Minnesota State begins, Wisconsin will celebrate the team's senior class. UW will recognize Kennedy Blair, Grace Bowlby, Delaney Drake, Kendra Nealey, Brette Pettet, Maddie Posick, Caitlin Schneider and Daryl Watts before puck drop. Make sure to be in your seats early to catch the ceremony and help us celebrate all these eight seniors have contributed to our program.

4. CHUCK-A-PUCK: During Saturday's game, Wisconsin will host its first-ever CHUCK-A-PUCK canned food drive, presented by EatStreet. Fans who bring in canned food will receive pucks to throw on the ice after the game for a chance to win prizes. For every two canned food items donated, fans will receive one puck, for every five items - three pucks, and for 10 cans you will receive SIX pucks. The maximum number of pucks that each fan is able to receive is SIX. All canned food is being donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. 
5. DARYL DOES IT ALL: Daryl Watts was named WCHA Forward of the Week after putting up a hat trick against Minnesota State in Saturday's game and scored her 150th point as a Badger. The senior forward is now fifth for all-time points in the NCAA with 284 and just one point shy of moving into a tie for third place with Julie Chu and Jocelyn Lamoureaux.
