STARTING FIVE
.) BADGERS AT THE BALLPARK: It's time for the "Brew City Battle" on Friday, a unique experience and game that Wisconsin fans will not want to miss. The first basketball game to ever be played at American Family Field, both the Wisconsin men's and women's teams will take part in the doubleheader. The UW men's team will take on Stanford at 6:30 p.m., and ticket information can be found at Brewers.com/Badgers.
.) HISTORY VS. STANFORD: Wisconsin and Stanford have faced off ten times prior to Friday's game, with Stanford holding a 6-4 edge in the all-time series. The first matchup was in 1940, with Stanford winning, 39-26. The most recent game between the two teams was held in the Bahamas at the 2018 Battle 4 Atlantis, where the Badgers came away with a 62-46 victory. Coincidentally, UW is headed back to the Battle 4 Atlantis this season over Thanksgiving week.
.) BADGERS IN THE BREW CITY: The Wisconsin men's basketball team is no stranger to playing in Milwaukee. Last season, the Badgers drew two games in the city as part of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, facing Colgate and Iowa State at Fiserv Forum. Friday won't be the last game in Milwaukee for UW this seaon either, as the team will return again later this season to face in-state rival Marquette at Fiserv Forum on Dec. 3.
.) WAHL BALL: Tyler Wahl got the season off to a solid start in UW's game vs. South Dakota on Monday night at the Kohl Center. The senior forward led the Badgers to their first win of the season with a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double, finishing just four points shy from his career high. Wahl's statsheet didn't stop there, as he also added four assists, two steals, and one block. He shot 9-for-10 from the free-throw line.
.) THE KEY'S IN THE 3s: Strong shooting from beyond the arc was on display for the Badgers Monday night, as seven different players hit 3-point field goals and UW shot 46.2 percent (12-for-26) from distance. Sophomore point guard Chucky Hepburn led the way shooting 3-for-5 from 3-point range, while junior transfer Max Kesmit scored six of his 11 points from beyond the arc, while junior Steven Crowl and freshman Connor Essegian each hit a pair of 3s.
