MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team hosts the No. 10 St. Cloud State Huskies for a pair of games in their home opener at the Kohl Center this weekend.

Here are six quick things to know before tuning in:

Rosters: Badgers || St. Cloud

1 - NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Badgers are back at the Kohl Center for the building's 25th year, which has been home to Wisconsin men's hockey since it opened in 1998. The Badgers skated out of neighboring LaBahn Arena during the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. UW boasts a 236-166-48 overall record when playing in the Kohl Center.

2 - WELCOME BACK LINDMARK: Owen Lindmark returned to the Badger's lineup this season after missing the majority of the 2021-22 season due to injury and was eager to make an impact straight out of the gate. The senior forward netted a short-handed goal against Ohio State in Wisconsin's first series of the season. Lindmark seems to have an affinity for scoring on the penalty kill and now shares the nation's lead with five career short-handed goals.

3 - FRESHMAN FIRSTS: Two Badger freshmen notched their first career goals against Ohio State last weekend. Cruz Lucius, a 2022 fourth round draft pick of the Carolina Hurricanes, scored the Badger's lone tally in their 3-1 loss to the Buckeyes on Friday. Freshman defenseman Ben Dexheimer recorded his first career point with a primary assist on Lucius' goal

The following night, Jack Horbach gave the Badgers an early lead with a nifty unassisted goal. Minutes later, freshman forward and 2023 eligible draft prospect Charlie Stramel assisted Brock Caufield's goal for his first career point.

4 - SCSU AT THE KC: The last time the Badgers faced the Huskies at the Kohl Center was over a decade ago in February 2012, back when Wisconsin was part of the WCHA. The Badgers are 25-16-4 when facing St. Cloud at home and lead 43-37-9 in the overall series.

5 - SCOUTING ST. CLOUD: The Huskies started their season out with a series sweep over St. Thomas, winning 3-1 and 4-0. Senior defenseman Dylan Anhorn leads the roster with one goal and four assists, followed by Veeti Miettinen with one goal and four assists. St. Cloud was ranked 11th overall in the preseason polls and jumped to 10th following their pair of wins.

6 - HOW TO WATCH: Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. CT on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15. Watch live on Bally Sports Wisconsin and follow along on Twitter and Instagram at @BadgerMHockey
