MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Badger men's hockey team will hit the road this weekend for their second series matchup with the Michigan Wolverines. Here are six quick things you need to know before tuning in:

1. COLE'S CONFERENCE: Freshman forward Cole Caufield sits atop the Big Ten with 18 total points in conference play so far this season. In all time Badger history, he only stands one goal away from cracking the all-time top-10 list for goals by a freshman. Mark Johnson holds the school mark with 36 set in the 1976-77 season.

2. SEEING DOUBLE: Captain Wyatt Kalynuk has been an assist machine over the past two weekends for the Badgers. He has notched multi-point games in three of the last four games for Wisconsin including a goal and five assists. He leads the current Badgers with 19 career multi-point games tallying six so far this season.

3. SCHEDULE STRENGTH: Wisconsin has played the third-toughest schedule in the country, according to the USCHO.com RPI rankings and the No. 2 most difficult slate according to the KRACH rankings.

4. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin faced the Wolverines in Madison during their last outing against each other on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. The Badgers overcame a 2-0 deficit for a 3-2 victory on goals by Dylan Holloway, Wyatt Kalynuk and K'Andre Miller the first night, before losing a 3-1 game. Cole Caufield scored the lone Badger goal in the second tilt. 

5. SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES: The 11-12-3 Michigan Wolverines sit sixth in the Big Ten coming off a weekend split with No. 11 Ohio State. Michigan is 4-2-1 in the new year with all four of its wins coming against ranked Big Ten opponents. Scoring leader Jake Slaker has scored a point in five of the last six games for the Wolverines including a two-goal game versus Penn State. Sophomore goaltender Strauss Mann has tallied two shutouts since the New Year, one against then No. 6 Penn State and one against then No. 14 Notre Dame.
