MADISON, Wis. -- The Badger men's hockey team (8-11-1, 3-8-1-1 Big Ten) finished a two-game series against the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes (14-6-2, 7-4-1-0) with an exciting Saturday night upset win from the Kohl Center, 5-2.
Sean Dhooghe opened the scoring in the first and after the Buckeye's responded with one of their own to end the period, it looked like a back and forth game was possible for the second night in a row.

- Jack Berry's assist was the first goaltender assist for UW since Notre Dame in Feb. 16, 2019
- Wisconsin's four-goal second period was its first since the third period on Dec. 1, 2018 against Penn State in an 8-5 victory
Straight from the rink:
Head Coach Tony Granato:
"There were a lot of things we did better than the last six or seven games. Jack Barry was solid, he was confident, he made them make great shots - or try to make great shots - and really gave our team a lot of confidence. He even got an assist on a play. He made big plays for us in the game tonight."
"It was nice to get a few breaks around the net. I thought Roman [Ahcan]'s effort last night was outstanding and he followed it up again tonight. He had a great start to the season and then slowed down a little bit, but he certainly came back and played two great games this weekend."
Sophomore Forward Roman Ahcan:
"I feel like it's been a while since we played and over break we had some time to reflect on our first half (of the season) and I think that yesterday didn't go how we wanted but today we bounced back and played how we wanted. We're finally starting to get some puck luck which is nice."
Senior Goaltender Jack Berry:
"Playing in front of this crowd and playing in the Kohl Center is a good feeling, just soak it in a little bit. I thought we played a great 60 minutes and I think we maybe haven't done that in a bit. But we stuck to the game plan which is huge and coach preaches that. I thought it was good for us to do and maybe we can carry this momentum into next weekend."
Up next: Wisconsin return to the Kohl Center again next weekend for their second series of the season against the Michigan State Spartans. Puck drop is at 8 p.m. on Friday night and 7 p.m. on Saturday night and broadcasts are available on ESPNU and FOX Sports Wisconsin Plus, respectably.
