
Bison can't bring down the Badgers

Wisconsin wins 64-63 against NDSU
FARGO, N.D.- The Badgers secured a close win against the Bison on Sun. Dec. 8.
Wisconsin was able to hold North Dakota State off in the final seconds of the game, taking them down 64-63.
The Badgers trailed until 26 seconds remaining in the first quarter when they took the lead after going on a 10-0 run. The lead went back-and-forth between the two teams until senior Kendra Van Leeuwen was able to reclaim it again with 1:47 remaining in the second.
The Badgers had a comfortable lead after going on a 12-2 run in the third quarter. The Bison attempted a comeback, but the Badgers successfully held them off.
Van Leeuwen played an integral role in Wisconsin's victory. The senior led the team with 13 points, as well as three assists and two steals.
Leaders Abby Laszewsi and Imani Lewis once again gave the Badgers an edge. Laszewski scored 12 points and led the team in rebounds with six. Lewis had 11 points.
Junior Michelle Gaislerova led NDSU with 21 points and five rebounds for the Bison. The next closest in scoring was Sofija Zivaljevic, with 13 points.
Wisconsin will be returning home after four straight games on the road to host Alabama State on Thu. Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.
