MADISON, Wis. -- The second-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team heads to St. Cloud, Minnesota to take on the SCSU Huskies this weekend. Puck drop on Friday is set for 6 p.m. at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center while Saturday's contest starts at 3 p.m.
1. CORRALING THE MAVERICKS: Wisconsin posted a nine-goal victory weekend against Minnesota State Nov. 16-17 on home ice, taking a 3-2 win Saturday and a 6-1 win Sunday.
The Badgers' netted some spectacular goals against the Mavericks including a top shelf shot by junior Brett Pettet on a power play, a backhander by senior Alexis Mauermann to tally her second season goal and a spin move by senior Abby Roque.

The Badgers' first line dominated the scoreboard as junior Daryl Watts, Roque and sophomore Sophie Shirley netted at least one goal each in both games.
2. ROQUE STAR: Senior alternate captain Abby Roque took home a pair of awards this week as the forward was named the NCAA First Star of the Week and the WCHA Forward of the Week.
Roque scored both of the Badgers' game-winning goals against the Mavericks last weekend and ended the weekend with a league-high six points off three goals and three assists. The WCHA Preseason Player of the Year, Roque also earned a +6 plus/minus rating against MSU.

3. POWERING UP: The Badgers' power play is off to a historic start as UW has converted .447 of its chances (21 of 47) including two conversions in last Sunday's game against MSU.
UW is only eight power-play tallies away from matching its total from a year ago while its .447 clip, which leads the NCAA, would be a school record if the season ended today.
4. STREAKING AGAINST ST. CLOUD: Wisconsin enters the weekend with a 21-game unbeaten streak against St. Cloud State, a streak that started on Feb. 2, 2015. During the run, the Badgers have outscored the Huskies 91-10 next to 14 shutouts.
Sophomore Britta Curl has six goals and nine points in six games with the Huskies while Sophie Shirley has eight points in six games against SCSU. In addition, Presley Norby has seven goals in 14 games against the Huskies.

Last time out, Wisconsin defeated St. Cloud State during the first round WCHA Playoff series with an 8-0 sweep at LaBahn Arena. UW leads the all-time series with SCSU at an 84-2-3 record.
5. FAMILIAR FACES: St. Cloud State has a pair of Badger legends on their bench with Jinelle (Zaugg) Siergiej and Molly Engstrom.
Siergiej (Wisconsin forward 2004-08) scored one of the most memorable goals in school history against Harvard in the 2007 NCAA quarterfinal game which sent the Badgers to the Frozen Four and onto their two consecutive NCAA titles.
Meanwhile, Engstrom (Wisconsin forward 2001-05) was a two-time WCHA Defensive Player of the Year for the Cardinal and White as the fifth top defensive scorer in school history (28 g, 57 a).
