TUCSON, Ariz. – Junior Casie Pawlik led the Wisconsin track and field team during the final day of the multi events at the Jim Click Shootout on Friday at the Roy P. Drachman Stadium.

Pawlik recorded a score of 4,724 points, only 40 points off of her personal-best score, to the lead the Badgers.

Freshman Phoebe Edwards, in her first collegiate heptathlon, finished 13th with a score of 4,603, while Annie Wagner placed 18th with a score of 3,824 points.

Freshman Emma Fitzgerald was in fourth-place in the event after six events, but was unable to finish the heptathlon.

In the heptathlon long jump, Fitzgerald soared 18 feet, 3 1/4 inches, while Pawlik was right behind her teammate with a jump of 18-0 3/4. Edwards earned a mark of 17-3 1/4 while Wagner jumped 16-0 3/4.

Fitzgerald won the javelin with a throw of 160-11 while Edwards was 10th with a heave of 111-5.

Pawlik and Wagner tallied throws of 92-7 and 83-4, respectively.

Pawlik ran a personal-best time of 2:29.94 in the 800 meters while Edwards finished in 2:36.13 and Wagner in 2:41.35.

In the decathlon, sophomore Trent Nytes led the event after seven events, but a no height in the pole vault took him out of the running for the event title. The Kaukauna, Wisconsin, native did not finish the 10-event discipline.

Nytes started the day with a time of 15.58 in the 110 hurdles and a mark of 125-1 in the discus. He wrapped up with a personal best in the javelin of 162-11.
