MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's track and field team will travel to Tucson, Arizona for the 2017 Jim Click Shootout on Saturday.

The meet is hosted by Arizona with Iowa, TCU, Oklahoma State and Northern Arizona University rounding out the field.

Field events begin at 11 a.m. CT and competition on the track will start at 2:30 p.m.

Junior pole vaulter
Taylor Amann looks to build on a record-breaking indoor season. The Big Ten Indoor champion opened up her outdoor season at the Aztec Invitational. She earned a fifth-place finish in the invitational section with a vault of 13 feet, ¼ inch. She is seeded first in the pole vault heading into the weekend.

Brenna Detra ranks second all-time at UW in the 400 hurdles. The senior won the event at the UC-Riverside Spring Classic two weeks ago with a lightning fast time of 59.21 seconds. Detra is seeded second in the 400 hurdles on Saturday and will go up against Sage Watson, a 2016 Olympian who competed in the 400 hurdles for Canada.

Sprinter
Ebony McClendon collected three victories in the season's opening weekend. In the 200 meters at the UC-Riverside Spring Classic the sophomore ran a personal-best 23.68 and ranks third all-time in the event. Her other titles included the 100 meters at the UC-Riverside Spring Classic and the 200 meters at the Aztec Invitational. She will compete in the top heat of the 100 and 200 meters this weekend.

Banke Oginni will be competing in her first outdoor meet of the year and is slated to appear in the hammer throw and shot put. After earning second-team All-America honors in the weight throw during the indoor season, Oginni will shift her focus to competing in the shot put, currently ranking seventh all-time in the event.

Fellow sophomore
Kennedy Blahnik is also a prominent Badger thrower, ranking third all-time in shot put and discus. Last time out Blahnik threw 186-4 in the discus to secure a fourth-place finish in the invitational section at the Aztec Invitational. This weekend she is the top seed in the shot put and will also throw the discus.

Freshman sensation Chinne Okoronwko is a double threat in the pole vault and triple jump. She is entered in both events on Saturday enters ranked first in triple jump and second behind Amann in pole vault. In her first outdoor meet as a Badger, Okoronkwo jumped 41-7 at the UC-Riverside Classic to win the triple jump and place herself fifth on the all-time list.
