IOWA CITY, Iowa
- Coming off its first conference win of the season against Nebraska, the Wisconsin men's tennis team dropped its match to No. 45 Iowa in dramatic fashion, ultimately losing the dual by a final score of 4-3.

Despite the final result, the Badgers continued to show their strength in doubles, winning their fifth consecutive doubles point dating back to the dual with No. 15 TCU on March 1.

The No. 51 duo of freshmen Jose Maria Martin De Oliva Carranza and Josef Dodridge kicked things off for UW by defeating the No. 74 team of Matt Hagan and Dominic Patrick. With the win, the pair improved to 7-2 on the season, which includes a 2-2 record against nationally ranked opponents.

John Zordani and Lamar Remy clinched the point for Wisconsin on court 3, dispatching Iowa's Lefteris Theodorou and Jake Jacoby by a final score of 8-4. Alexander Kokorev and Jakhongir Jalalov were unable to finish their contest, and the pair narrowly trailed 5-6 at the time of its conclusion.

Dodridge and Carranza continued to lead the way for the Badgers, earning UW's two singles victories.

Dodridge upset No. 104 Matt Hagan in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, and the match stood as the newcomer's first win against a ranked foe. On court 6, Carranza defeated the Hawkeye's Andres Estenssoro in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.

Jalalov began his court 2 singles contest on a strong note, winning the first set. However, he was unable to continue that early momentum, dropping the point by a score of 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.

Similar to Jalalov, Sinha opened singles play with a first set victory but fell to Iowa's Jake Jacoby, 5-7, 6-2, 6-0. Pitra and Remy rounded out singles action for the Badgers, unable to overcome their Hawkeye opponents.

Wisconsin continues season action with a trio of home matches at Nielsen Tennis Stadium next weekend. UW will play a doubleheader against Indiana and SIUE on Friday and conclude the weekend playing Big Ten opponent Purdue on Sunday.
